Project 5: Newsletter
In this project, I learned how to create and lay out a 4 page newsletter spread. Some skills included formatting provided articles with paragraph and character styles, applying parent pages for page numbers, adding a tab set for a table on contents, using a color scheme from a provided swatch collection, and correctly formatting graphics. Design-wise, it was a challenge to carefully balance the amount of visuals  and color blocks you use without sacrificing any of the required content.

Project 4: Styles
In Project 4, the main focus was learning to properly use object, paragraph, and character styles. Additional skills included copy, pasting, and formatting text and using text wrap to fit your graphics. All graphics were made shape and pen tool.

Skills Practice: Graphics
This was a a skills practice where we learned to properly format graphics. The photos were downloaded into photoshop and set to the correct settings and then we brought them into InDesign. I learned that you can edit colors in photos if they are changed to black and white. I also learned how to make a compound path and spread a graphic into multiple objects.

Project 3: Poster Design Contest
This was the first poster I ever made. It was a contest for the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation. We had to follow the organization's requirements including what text to include and other basic design requirements. Other than that, it was left to our discretion to make our design fit their brand. I use basic shape and type tool skills to create this.

Project 1: Introduce Yourself
This was my first project ever using any Adobe Software. I only knew the shape, line, and type tool as well as basics of using swatches and how to properly package and export work. It was extremely challenging at the time but I learned so much.

Project 2: Spot Colors
This was my most time consuming project. I learned how to use spot colors and use the separations preview to ensure I only had the two spot colors. The only variations in color were tints. I also learned to use some basics in the effects and gradients panels. I did not yet know the pen tool so this project was creating by tediously manipulating and layering basic shapes.
